Description Summary

This position assures compliance with federal and state legal and regulatory requirements including communication of requirements and oversight and validation of their implementation. This position also provides consulting on state and federal compliance issues, and represents the company in association with agencies responsible for state and federal regulations.

Accountabilities


  1. Provides guidance in developing the institution’s policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Responds to inquiries on regulatory issues. Representative on committees and special projects.

  2. Researches, develops and guides implementation of a compliance program and coordinating procedures to effectively review the various departments of the institution for compliance.

  3. Coordinates federal and state regulatory examinations. Acts as a primary examination contact on compliance matters. Works in conjunction with staff to prepare responses to federal and state examination reports.

  4. Consults with the internal and independent auditors to ensure that compliance issues are adequately addressed where appropriate.

  5. Consults with legal counsel and various senior officers in developing new contracts, forms, disclosures and advertisements which meet the needs of the institution and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

  6. Prepares reports to the Board of Directors and Board Committees concerning relevant compliance issues and developments.


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in business and 8 years of experience, or 12 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
