The Impact You Will Have
BlueCross BlueShield MN is looking for an engaging Sales Supervisor to join our team! This position has accountability for the 2-9 Sales and Account Management team that works with Blue Cross commercial accounts including small accounts in Minnesota. Additionally, you will support 2-9 business initiatives on behalf of the customer groups such as training, implementation, and the ongoing efforts to keep the product moving within the organization. The incumbent is also responsible for the identification and deployment of process improvement efforts and leadership across the small group segment. This position is responsible for assisting brokers and sales agents to ensure Blue Cross maintains its market position for 2-9 client groups.
Your Responsibilities
- Leads sales account staff on overall account support and client life cycle.
- Represents BCBSM insurance plans, rules and conveys appropriately in conversations with agents and brokers.
- Oversee proper servicing of assigned accounts to ensure satisfaction, efficient and effective performance, and retention of business.
- Maximizes the sale of company products by determining suitability, eligibility and need; explains benefits for appropriate coverage, responds to questions, supplies relevant marketing material, and assists with application process.
- Initiates, leads and/or participates as a subject matter expert in cross-functional projects at both an enterprise and market segment level to ensure product or service design, implementation, and performance improvements.
- Leads initiatives to develop and deploy best practice processes, technology, training, and templates to improve the quality and effectiveness of operations account management performance for segments as requested.
- Hires, coaches, and motivates staff to achieve high performance standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- Possess and maintain a valid MN Resident Producer License in the lines of Life & Health/ Accident in good standing within 60 days of employment.
- 3+ years related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
- 1+ years of supervisory or team lead experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, use of good judgment, and the ability to effectively manage time.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, problem solve and resolve complex issues as evidenced by maintaining high quality standards with minimal or no supervision/oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and escalate service issues that impact the service team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express complex concepts in lay terms.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and grammatically correct materials to explain rationale for the decision-making process or health plan design concepts.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to learn and present new concepts, and possession of problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with multiple PC-based software applications and systems.
- Adaptable and flexible with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of state and/or federal regulatory policies and/or provider agreements, and a variety of health plan products.
- High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Related process experience or training desired in process modeling, process maturity models; quality improvement techniques such as 6 Sigma, Lean Sigma, or ISO 9000.
- Prior account management, sales, or sales support experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Access, Visio).
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 Annual + Commission
Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
