The Impact You Will Have
As the Vice President of Health Solutions you will be responsible for the strategic planning, development and value of health solutions for all lines of business. The scope includes health solutions for both medical and behavioral health, and they will partner closely with clinical operations to ensure efficient and impactful execution of all products and programs. This role is accountable for demonstrating the value (both clinical and financial) of health solutions to internal and external stakeholders and working through our Provider Relations Team to assure the delivery of high quality, efficient, and appropriate clinical care to members. They will partner closely with leaders in Provider Relations and Pharmacy to ensure all health services solutions are integrated and aligned to deliver on our mission of paving the way for everyone to achieve their healthiest life. This position will also collaborate closely with the leadership of Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid product lines to ensure they meet the unique health needs of their specific member populations and position us as a leader in delivering high value health solutions.
Your Responsibilities
Sets and executes the health solutions strategic mission, vision, and objectives considering member and stakeholder needs, legal and regulatory requirements, market analysis, and industry trends.
Leads the strategic development and implementation of health solutions products and programs to ensure that everyone can affordably achieve their healthiest life, and that products and programs meet the needs of our internal and external stakeholders to ensure sustainable organizational growth.
Ensures all products and programs meets applicable regulatory and compliance standards and accreditation requirements.
Represents the division to a variety of external stakeholders including provider organizations, customers, advocacy groups and government entities.
Establishes department goals and performance metrics that support the Health Services division and enterprise strategic plans.
Ensures that the right systems, processes and measurement/reporting are in place to demonstrate the value and clinical effectiveness of Health Solutions products and programs to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborates with Data & Analytics and Communications teams to develop and effectively communicate product and program value to internal and external stakeholders
Partners closely with other health services leaders to ensure value delivery is optimized across departmental levers
Communicates clearly and persuasively to build support for initiatives, engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
Ensures clinical and management talent are in place to improve member health.
Serves as a role model and coach/mentor for ongoing leadership and staff development.
Enhances teamwork, collaboration, across enterprise.
Required Skills and Experience
10+ years of management level experience in healthcare/managed care with proven ability to successfully develop and execute a strategic vision. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
5+ years of population health and/or managed care leadership.
If applicable current MN license or ability to obtain one.
Knowledge of government and CMS policies regarding Medicare and Medicaid eligibility, programs, and beneficiaries.
Knowledge of managed healthcare delivery systems to include critical components and interdependencies.
Proficiency with data and analysis of healthcare trend
Experience with strategic planning and the budget process.
Ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external, including Board and C-suite.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and budgets
Evidence of ability to drive execution and consistently deliver business results
Excellent relationship skills to partner on shared goals with other Blue Cross teams and colleagues as well as with key external influencers.
Demonstrated ability to lead people, create high performing teams and develop talent.
High ethical standards and commitment to the organization's key values and proven ability to create a high performing team culture.
Accepting this position at BCBSMN requires signing an Employee Confidentiality, Intellectual Property Assignment, and Restrictive Covenants Agreement as a condition of employment.
High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Post graduate education in Health Care Administration, Public Health, or an MBA.
Clinical licensure a plus but not required and will consider non-clinical candidates with significant population health and/or managed care experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $300,000.00 - $330,000.00 - $360,000.00 Annual
Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
