The Impact You Will Have
The Specialty Sales Manager serves as an instrumental leader in expanding and optimizingBCBSMN specialty benefits. The Specialty Sales Managerwill serve as the face of BCBSMN Specialty ProductSales division externally and is the organizations SME in specialty benefits such as dental, vision and other work site voluntary products, including life and disability insurance. They will collaborate with internal teams, such as Commercial Markets new sales/strategic relations, Commercial Markets Product operations, underwriting, claims, and customer service, etc. to align the delivery of specialty products with the client’s goals and objectives.
Your Responsibilities
Accountable for the organization'sexpansion and optimization of specialty benefits products in partnership with the Commercial Markets Product team.
Serve as the face of Specialty Products Sales divisionboth internally and externally, representing the company with brokers, consultants, employers, and specialty benefit carriers to sell specialty products and ensure successful product implementation. Additionally, they will be accountable for increasing market penetration for specialty product offerings by fostering key relationships and attendingindustry events, conferences, and meetings with key partners.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with benefit carriers and other partners to enhance product offerings and market presence.
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on specialty benefits to internal teams and external partners.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to find opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
Partner closely with internal sales team to help drive specialty products sales strategy to ensure profitability and growth.
Required Skills and Experience:
7+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
Currently possess or will acquire a Minnesota health and life license within 60 days of starting the consulting sales job.
Knowledge of the health insurance industry and regulatory landscape.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Prior work experience as a benefits broker / consultant and / or for a benefits carrier.
Extensive experience in specialty benefits, with a focus on voluntary worksite and / or Life and Disability.
Proven track record in sales and business development, with a strong P&L mindset.
Knowledge of Blue Cross and affiliates products.
Skills:
Demonstrate building and maintaining strong professional relationships.
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, and ability to build rapport and trust with external and internal stakeholders.
Ability to establish matrix partnerships and follow through on expectations.
Strong problem-solving, and project management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Overnight travel as required.
Ability to think strategically and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 - $100,000.00 Annual + Commission
Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
