The Impact You Will Have

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of MN is hiring a Senior Product Analyst within our Health Services division in Eagan, MN. In this role, you will play a key part in driving the success of our Appropriate Payments product team by identifying high-value features, maintaining a healthy product backlog, and evaluating product performance against strategic goals and benchmarks. 

As a Senior Product Analyst, you should have excellent research and problem-solving skills, an understanding of complex software development, comprehensive understanding of the product development lifecycle and the ability to communicate effectivelyYou will ensure ongoing product support which may include story writing, documentation, market research and testing input. The Senior Product Analyst will also help analyze the backlog and provide input around the highest value opportunities for improvement.

The ideal candidates will have experience with claims data, medical coding, and/or reimbursement policies, along with strong problem-solving skills to uncover insights and propose actionable strategies. 

This is a hybrid position, requiring on-site presence in Eagan, MN two days per week.

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for gathering and interpreting data from various sources, identifying key insights, and providing actionable recommendations to drive product development and enhancement.

  • Collaborate with team(s) and Stakeholder(s) to discover and deliver the best solution to the market problem(s) presented by the Product Manager or Product Owner (business).

  • Working with a variety of internal and external partners to elicit and document business requirements for user stories.

  • Help Product Owner and scrum team to plan work in upcoming sprints, considering a variety of factors such as priority, effort/cost, complexity, dependencies, and business and system impacts

  • Provide input into complex business cases and vendor relationships and document the technology/business needs into product backlog stories/items.

  • Attends sprint ceremonies and is available to team during the sprint for clarifications and acceptance of user stories.

  • Aid where needed throughout sprints for the development team, such as answering questions on requirements and providing input on testing strategy.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation of system and business processes.

  • Build strong relationships with team members, business users, stakeholders, subject matter experts, vendors, to help navigate through problems, decisions, and related implications.

  • Act as a mentor for other product analysts and scrum team members

Required Skills & Experiences

  • 5+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.

  • One of the following certifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), SAFe PM/PO, CSM, or ICAgile Product Ownership (ICP-APO), or will be obtained in the subsequent 12 months after hiring.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills 

  • Experience with writing complex business/functional requirements and experience implementing Agile methodologies

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties 

  • High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Skills & Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Proficiency with claims data, medical coding and/or reimbursement policies is strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to work with large sets of information, identify trends, and communicate findings effectively to guide decision-making and strategy development

  • Capability to organize complex information, recognize gaps or opportunities, and collaboratively develop solutions within a team environment

  • Expertise in visualizing data, preparing business cases, and presenting actionable solutions to stakeholders while ensuring alignment with team goals

  • Experience working in the managed care/healthcare insurance industry

  • Experience in process improvement with high level of execution focus

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $88,600.00 - $117,400.00 - $146,200.00 Annual

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
