How Is This Role Important to Our Work?

Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN is hiring a Senior Product Delivery Manager in Eagan, MN. The Senior Product Delivery Manager position, will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful delivery of products and features on product or value operations team within the organization. The Senior Product Delivery Manager will work with teams to help them identify stakeholders and scope to achieve delivery on key outcomes; may be asked to define key outcomes as well. This role requires an execution mindset with a deep understanding of Product, Agile and Lean delivery management. This role will push for continuous improvement focusing on four key areas: Organizational Effectiveness (Engaged Teams), Customer Value (Building the right things), Quality (Working Product) and Team Effectiveness (Deliver Predictably). This position will work with teams to help teams identify scope to achieve delivery on key outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of proven experience in Product Delivery with a background in Product, Agile and/or Lean. Must have strong communication skills, understand end-to-end product strategy to delivery and have a history of strong proven partnership with product teams, to address competing priorities.

This role is hybrid, 2 days a week in office, out of Eagan, MN.

A Day in the Life:

  • Team Operations: Manage the work intake process, including internal customer issues and feature requests.
  • System Environment Management: Coordinate system environment changes to support operations and feature releases.
  • Obstacle Removal: Identify and remove impediments that hinder team efficiency, such as negotiating with stakeholders and addressing vendor issues.
  • Reporting: Track key delivery metrics, report on the current state and progress of work, and ensure clear communication with the Leadership Team and other stakeholders.
  • Dependency Management: Tracking of cross team/vendor dependencies.
  • Organizational Readiness: Ensure internal stakeholders are prepared to support new features/functionality introduced to customers, identifying risks and necessary action items in advance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Where appropriate, coaches the teams to improve collaboration and outcomes.
  • Vendor Liaison: Partner with vendor support staff to manage issues and escalations.

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, technical degree or a relevant field
  • 5+ years of Agile or Product Team experience or in role experience 
  • Exposure to Agile backlog management & planning tools from Atlassian (Jira) , Portfolio Management, Product Management and/or Mural
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, including experience leveraging data to inform decision making and independently solving problems
  • Experience in implementing continuous improvement processes and delivery methodologies.
  • Communicate product portfolio progress and escalate risks through executive-level reporting such as Product Reviews and Executive Management Reviews.
  • Leadership and management experience a plus
  • One of the following certifications: Certified scrum master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Product Certificates, SAFe or LeSS

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related (Product, Agile or Lean) professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, to deliver solutions
  • Utilize data to help tell a story 
  • Able to build highly engaged teams
  • Excellent people and portfolio management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills
  • Expertise in relating strategy to tactics
  • Expertise in strategic thinking and strong business acumen
  • Adept at working effectively with all functions of an organization in a highly matrixed environment
  • Experience creating documentation such as business case documentation or business requirements summaries
  • Experience with agile planning tools such as Jira and/or Mural
