The Impact You Will Have
This position is responsible for the design of cost effective health and wellness or financial benefit plans, programs and policies to drive attraction and retention of employees and executives in support of Blue Cross strategic plan. This position also ensures plan compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
Your Responsibilities
- Researches, designs, recommends and implements new or revised health benefit and wellness programs or financial benefit plans and policies working with internal resources or external vendors as appropriate.
- Health and wellness benefits include medical, dental, vision, ancillary products related to health benefits as well as a suite of wellness and work/life benefits.
- Financial benefits include short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, workers compensation, 401(k), pension and nonqualified benefit plans.
- Prepares reports for management regarding cost effectiveness and competiveness of such programs.
- Develops and implements comprehensive employee and executive communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits programs and help employees and executives take action.
- Prepares and/or obtains and reviews all necessary reports and benefit plan documents to assure compliance with applicable government rules and regulations and timeliness of all filings.
- Provides training and support to HR Service Center staff to ensure staff is able to respond to employee questions and is able to administer benefit programs per plan documents and government regulations.
Required Skills and Experiences
- 5+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates. Previous experience as a benefits analyst or benefits administrator.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem solving skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefit and wellness programs.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to develop accurate and appropriate communications.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Excellent project management and process development skills to efficiently manage a wide variety of activities and projects.
- High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills and Experiences
- Bachelor's degree.
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation or Certified Benefits Profession (CBP) designation.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $77,200.00 - $102,300.00 - $127,400.00 Annual
Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
