Description Summary

This position is responsible for providing analytical support for multiple care management initiatives, including medical policy and will perform highly complex technical and analytical work under limited supervision in support of developing and implementing strategic business solutions through research, audit and analysis of data for the Care Management division.  Guides a cross-functional teams to initiate, plan, and lead analysis from conceptual development to conclusion.


Accountabilities


  1. Accountable for extracting data for cross-functional alignment sessions. 

  2. Prepares business cases based on cross-functional team decisions.

  3. Monitors ongoing performance of the medical policy portfolio.

  4. Participates in design and implementation process to implement improvements (including business requirements and acceptance testing) to support the business units. The focus is on end-to-end business process improvements that drive the operation of the business.

  5. Identifies opportunities and recommends solutions that increases automation and resolves system deficiencies.

  6. Researches and resolves system issues in a timely and accurate manner.

  7. Maintains awareness of systems, products and expertise to support business units.

  8. Participates in assigned workgroups, committees, and project implementations.

  9. Collaborates with business and technical units.

  10. Acts as a mentor for other individuals in the department.

  11. Uses databases for analysis and dissemination of information.

  12. Performs complex analysis of data. Researches, analyzes data, applies statistical methods when appropriate, and provides interpretation of outcomes. Identifies issues to be researched, determining affected areas, estimating the impact and contributing to the resolution.

  13. Serves as an analytic consultant who can explain complex measurement or analysis techniques and results in layman’s terms.


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of business experience or 11 years of business experience in lieu of a degree.

  • 5 years experience analyzing and modeling data involving outcomes and utilization, using various statistical software and computer programming (SAS, Visual Basic, DB2, Oracle, etc.).

  • Excellent collaborative, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

  • Intermediate technical skills (Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Access).

  • Desire to excel and ability to work in a high paced environment, handling multiple responsibilities and projects. 

  • Strong work ethic, flexible.

  • Demonstrated data and programming experience.

  • Proficient math and statistical knowledge.


Preferred Requirements


  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of managed care and healthcare claims preferred.
