The Impact You Will Have:
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of MN is hiring a Senior Marketing Strategist in Eagan, MN. The Senior Marketing Strategist is a self-starter who will use marketing strategy, planning, and project management experience to develop and execute growth and engagement B2B marketing programs. You’re a marketing pro who is customer-focused, curious, agile, willing/able to take the lead, a strong relationship-builder, and a strong writer. You’ll lead large and/or complex marketing projects as you work with sales, product, insights, digital, creative, and agency partners to develop and execute marketing plans. You’ll be a leader in shaping a culture that focuses on finding new and better ways to do great things and puts the customer at the center of all you do. This position reports to the Commercial Markets Marketing Manager.
This position plays a key role in helping us create a world-class marketing team dedicated to elevating the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota brand and products.
This role is hybrid, 2 days a week in office, out of Eagan, MN.
Your Responsibilities:
- Leads development of strategic Commercial Markets marketing plans and owns the execution of winning go-to-market strategies for large and high-profile initiatives.
- Partners closely with Sales and Product teams to translate business goals into marketing strategies, plans, and deliverables/promotional materials to drive enrollment growth; serves as Marketing expert in cross-functional working teams, with a strong ability to influence.
- Leverages market intel, performance reporting, and other data to inform plans. Continuously tests, learns, and looks for innovative marketing tactics and ways to incorporate insights to close gaps and drive growth.
- Owns recommending new lead generation and prospect conversion opportunities to leadership; uses synthesized information that clearly communicates key takeaways to influence decisions.
- Drives best-in-class Marketing Planning and Review processes; measures and evaluates the effectiveness of plans and campaigns including acquisition and retention metrics and ROI.
- Leads execution and implementation of marketing and communications plans and projects, providing updates to project team and business partners on an on-going basis. Has strong project management experience from discovery to launch, with a proven track record in scope / timeline building and on-time execution.
- Develops and writes branded copy for use in new and on-going content, anchored in customer needs and compelling value propositions. Partners with creative resources to create content as needed to fulfill marketing plans.
- Manages acquisition strategies; coordinates internal production, creative and support teams, as well as external vendors and other business partners, to develop and implement marketing plans.
- Mentors associates, sharing your experience and supporting their development. Leads working teams, as needed.
- Takes a leadership role in developing a culture of collaboration, innovation, ownership, inclusion, and putting the customer first.
- Has a strong interest in helping people live their healthiest, happiest lives.
Required Skills and Experiences:
- 5+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated experience developing both B2B and B2C marketing strategies, with the ability to flex between them when needed.
- Strong knowledge of traditional and digital marketing practices, with a digital-first mindset.
- Project management skills for handling many changing priorities and working under tight deadlines.
- Experience in a Sales-driven organization.
- Ability to flex across market segments, programs and initiatives based on changing business needs.
- Proven collaborator with ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong experience managing execution of marketing programs.
- Experience and knowledge of reporting and leveraging data for insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Traits of successful candidate: Curiosity, customer-focused, relationship-builder, resourceful.
- For Government Markets segments: Must complete and pass annual certification about the Medicare program, Blue Cross/Blue Plus Medicare products, Fraud, Waste and Abuse and other topics as required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Blue Cross.
- High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven experience with B2B marketing, lead generation, and digital and channel marketing; track record of successfully developing and executing marketing and communication plans, campaigns, and deliverables.
- Expert knowledge in the areas of marketing strategy, sales enablement, customer engagement, digital and traditional advertising, product promotion, sales channels, communications planning, and marketing measurement.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate communications and creative concepts against business objectives, providing constructive and specific direction for briefs and revisions.
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills, including the ability to simplify and summarize complex information, and create and deliver professional presentations to senior leadership and external audiences.
- Creative agency experience.
- Experience with Minnesota companies.
- Relevant health plan experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $77,200.00 - $102,300.00 - $127,400.00 Annual
Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
