Description Summary

Aligned with the division’s vision and strategies, this position is responsible for partnering with Health Services staff to identify, engage and execute upon process improvement opportunities. Utilizing process improvement methodology and change management techniques, this position will be instrumental in establishing a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence through education, demonstration, and measurable outcomes.


Accountabilities

1. Collaborates with leadership to develop, employ and continually improve a division-wide model of process improvement. This scope includes:




  • standard tools and approaches.

  • alignment/assignment of improvement resources.

  • prioritized project pipeline.

  • education of staff to support self-sufficiency.

  • measurement/depiction of the overall program’s status.



2. Leads, co-leads and/or facilitates improvement projects. Collaborates with staff to synchronize project details such as:




  • understanding of the work.

  • desired targets.

  • style of approach.

  • timing.

  • project team make up.

  • application of appropriate change management techniques.



3. Educates and supports leader self-sufficiency in improvement concepts and tools. Creates clear, understandable, simple and engaging education tools to be used in a variety of venues (classroom time, lunch and learn opportunities, 1:1, etc.). Delivers content in an effective way, conducive to an adult learning environment.



4. Makes local and/or programmatic results transparent. Communicates these results in written or verbal formats to multiple audience types, adjusting style as needed.



5. Champions and influences others to the benefits gained through the use of improvement methodology concepts and tools. Engages in thought leadership when problem solving and surface applicable examples.   


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare related field with 5 years of experience, or 9 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Process improvement certification (Lean or Six Sigma). Successful completion of competency test will also be required.

  • Proven application of improvement methodology in complex environments. Ability to demonstrate track record of achievement.

  • Understanding and/or previous utilization of change management methodology.

  • Ability to utilize most components of the Microsoft Office suite to include Project and Visio.

Problem Solver – Critically thinks to find creative solutions to existing problems. Exercises logic to resolve an ambiguous situation.

Preferred Requirements

Experience managing programs/projects in the healthcare industry (provider, payer etc).



Certification or considerable experience in change management methodologies.



Project management certification or experience.



Strategic planning or annual planning experience.



Master’s degree in business or related field
