Description Summary

The Senior Director Analytics will be responsible for the translation of data into business intelligence to meet the analytic needs of stakeholders across the enterprise.


Accountabilities


  1. Architect and build the new Enterprise Analytics Cost and Use team, responsible for data enrichment, reporting and analysis related to total cost of care for business stakeholders throughout the enterprise; business stakeholders are likely to include provider and network, pharmacy, actuarial, care management and affordability of care.

  2. Build and lead a team of associates currently aligned with information consumers across the enterprise, organizing resources to eliminate duplicate efforts in a way which allows best-in-class people, data resources and reporting/analytics methods to become the new standard-bearers for the organization.

  3. Lead the robust delivery of reporting and analytics to support business operations and strategic priorities by serving as a role model for collaborative, cross-functional working relationships.

  4. Lead a strategic, proactive and data-driven culture that will rapidly generate actionable insights to accelerate business value realization.

  5. Define and drive team toward standardized processes, procedures and systems to ensure consistency in delivery and operations while leveraging creativity and outside-the-box thinking as required to meet the business’s needs.

  6. Foster partnerships with business leaders to drive integration of analytic insights into business operations and identify additional opportunities to leverage analytics to enable achievement of strategic and operational objectives

  7. Lead the department including interviewing and hiring employees following required EEO and Affirmative Action guidelines and ensuring employees receive the proper training. Conducts performance evaluation, manage and develop associates including policy administration, performance management, employee relations and cost control


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in business, Health Sciences, Data Sciences or another related field is preferred. #BCBSM

  • 10 years of progressively greater experience working in healthcare data and/or analytics

  • 5 years acting in roles of increasing responsibility leading teams and working in or supporting the needs of business functions.

  • Proven ability to lead high performing teams, , work collaboratively across all levels, and drive business results in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Outstanding communication skills, experienced and effective in interacting with senior executives and line management at all levels.  Credible, persuasive and clear in both verbal and written presentations to diverse audiences.

  • Strong ability to build credibility, prioritize deliverables, solve problems quickly, and communicate clearly when conveying complex issues

  • Proven transformation skills that include the ability to consistently execute at a high level and drive positive change.

  • Demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically, including the ability to translate long-term goals and objectives into short-term tactical plans and operational activities.

  • Demonstrated agility and ability to navigate complex environments.

  • Superb influencing skills evidenced by a high EQ and ability to build strong relationships with key leaders throughout the organization

  • Collaborator, team player, and consensus builder, yet individually strong in taking actions and can push back when appropriate

  • Resilient, creative problem-solver who is action-oriented, with high energy and upbeat interpersonal style

Preferred Requirements


  • Master’s or advanced degree in business, Health Sciences, Data Sciences or another related field is preferred.
