How can I apply to a job?

For all positions, please apply online at https://careers.bluecrossmn.com.

What if I have a DISABILITY that prevents me from using your application system?

What’s the status of my application?

To view the status of your application, please go to our Careers Page at https://careers.bluecrossmn.com. Select “Manage my Job Submissions” at the top. Login with the username and password you created when you applied. Then, select the “Job Management” at the top. You will see a list of all jobs you have applied for and the status of your application.

Can I apply from a mobile device?

Yes, our careers site is mobile enabled.  Please note that a resume is required to submit your application.

What happens after I apply?

Once you submit your application you will receive an email confirming your submission. Your application will be reviewed, and you will be contacted about next steps after our Talent Acquisition team reviews your application

When will I hear about back regarding my application?

The timeline will vary from role to role but on average you should hear something within 2 – 4 weeks.  You will always be told via email if we have decided to proceed with a different candidate.

Can I have the contact information for the hiring manager or recruiter?

We do not provide contact information for our hiring managers or Talent Acquisition team.  If you would like the information so you can address a cover letter, we suggest:

Use the title of the person to whom you will report (Example: Dear Director of Finance)
Address the department you are applying for (Example: Dear Customer Service Department)
Insert a general title such as "Dear Hiring Manager" or "Dear Blue Cross Blue Shield Recruiting Team"

How do I create an alert to automatically send me jobs that match my interests?

First you need to create an account with us.  Once you’ve done that and logged in to your profile click on ‘Options’ in the sub menu near the upper right of the page.  From the drop down, menu select ‘Job Alerts.’  From here you will be able to create Job alerts based on key words and location.  You’ll also be able to set the delivery frequency by number of days.

How do I know my application was received and that I applied online successfully?

Login with the username and password you created when you applied. Then, select the “Job Management” at the top. You will see a list of all jobs you have applied for and the status of your application.

How do I withdraw my application?

Please go to our Careers Page at https://careers.bluecrossmn.com. Select “Manage my Job Submissions” at the top. Login with the username and password you created when you applied. Then, select the “Job Management” tab.  Click on the “Actions” dropdown and select “Withdraw Application” next to the position you would like to withdraw your application from.

Do I have to re-apply each time I see a job that I'm interested in?

Yes, you must apply to each role for which you’d like to be considered.

Can I submit different resumes and cover letters to different jobs that I apply to?

Yes, on the 2nd page of your application you will have the ability to upload a new resume and a cover letter.

Can I make changes to an application I already submitted?

No, once an application has been submitted it cannot be changed.  You will also be unable to make changes even if you withdraw and the resubmit your application.

If I have a criminal record can I still apply?

Yes, you can still apply.  We do conduct background checks after an offer has been made and accepted.  Employment eligibility based on background check results is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Is drug screening included in the interviewing process?

We do require applicants take a drug screening after an offer has been made and accepted.

I can't remember my password. What do I do?

When you are applying for an opening you will enter your email address.  If a job profile has already been created with that email address the site will ask for your password.  If you do not remember your password, click Forgot Password.  You will receive an email with instructions and a link to reset your password.  

How do I change my password?

Please go to our Careers Page at https://careers.bluecrossmn.com. Select “Manage my Job Submissions” at the top. Login with the username and password you created when you applied.  Click on “Password Management” at the top.  Enter your old password, a new password, and retype the new password.  Click the “Reset Password” button.

How can I update or delete my resume and/or cover letter?

Each time you apply to a new position you will have the opportunity to submit a new resume and cover letter.

What do I do if I still have trouble logging in after re-setting my password?

What if I don't want to apply online or I do not have an email account?

We only accept applications through our career site.

I saw a job posted on another website, but when I clicked on the job link, it said the job was no longer available and I can’t find it on https://careers.bluecrossmn.com/. Is the job still open?

If you are not able to find the role on https://careers.bluecrossmn.com/ it is no longer posted which means we are no longer accepting applications.

I saw a job posted on another website. It is no longer on that website, but it is still posted on your career page. Is the job still open?

Yes, if the position is posted on https://careers.bluecrossmn.com/  open and we are accepting applications.

I received testing and I am having technical difficulties.

The email you received with test information states who to contact if you are having technical difficulties.

Do you offer job shadowing or practical hours for medical professionals?

We do not.

When are your internships?

Our internships typically begin in early June.  Internship job openings are typically posted in the fall.

Do you rehire former employees?

Yes, we rehire former employees if they left Blue Cross on positive terms.  Rehire eligibility is reviewed when you apply, and someone will reach out to you if you are not eligible.

Do I need to enter my experience, education, etc. if I have uploaded a resume?

Yes.

How do I view a list of the application I’ve submitted?

Login with the username and password you created when you applied. Then, select the “Job Management” at the top. You will see a list of all jobs you have applied for.

My computer froze while applying to a position and I wasn’t able to complete my application, what should I do? 

Please go to our Careers Page at https://careers.bluecrossmn.com. Select “Manage my Job Submissions” at the top. Login with the username and password you created when you applied. Then, select the “Job Management” at the top.  If you see the position you began to apply for, click on it and finish the application.  Otherwise, you will need to apply submit a brand new application.

I am a current employee, where do I go to search/apply for positions?

You can apply through Talent Central.  A link to Talent Central can is located on BlueNet. 

Does Blue Cross have a policy regarding hiring relative of current employees?

Yes, we do hire relatives of current employees, but an individual will not be hired into a position where there is a family or interpersonal relationship that exists between individuals in a reporting relationship in the same reporting structure within the same division that poses an actual or potential conflict of interest.

I found a job that would be perfect for a friend of mine. Can I forward the job to them?

Yes, you can email a job to a friend by clicking on the small envelope icon next to other social media icons.  

Who do I contact if I have a suggestion, question, problem, or complaint in regards to your company’s Equal Employment Opportunity policy or Affirmative Action Program?
